Danville Kentucky was the dreamy backdrop for Mackenzie and Bradley's July "I dos." This couple had months to plan their perfect day, but the venue change the day before threw them for a loop! Nobody could have pulled in off as flawlessly as this perfect couple and their awesome bridal crew!

It's all in the details with this unique barn wedding. The ceremony arch was wrapped with white silk, eucalyptus, and beautiful flowers waiting for the even more stunning bride. Mackenzie wore a lace dress with a sweetheart neckline from David's Bridal and had a custom-made veil pinned in her curls. The bridesmaids (yes, there were a lot!) wore shades of green to compliment the grey suits worn by the groomsmen.

Bradley's reaction to Mackenzie walking down the aisle was so precious; all the family members were tearing up! The night was spent capturing every single sweet moment between the two of them. They made sure to include tons of time for dancing so the floor was filled with laughing and fun until the final send off. As everyone blew bubbles in the happy couples way, they drove off and started their lives together.

This engagement session was so so so much fun for me. Lindsay and Patrick are friends of mine from college (go GC Tigers). I met Lindsay my freshman year first semester and we have been close ever since. She is one of those friends that thru all of the changes in life we have been able to keep up, some seasons more than others. But no matter what we pick up right where we left off.

Anyways, back to Lindsay and Patrick. Although they both went to Georgetown they didn’t know each other at the time (they knew of each other), but years after graduating they ran ran into each other one day at Keeneland and the rest was history. Their engagement session took place in two very special places for Lindsay and Patrick, their home and Keeneland. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in just a few short months.

Seth Adkins and Dana Liggett

This engagement session was such a Kentucky session, and not just because of the location. We had a little bit of rain and then a beautiful beautiful sunset. Dana and Seth are high school sweet hearts and their wedding will be on the blog soon.

Breanna Stansbury and Mitchell Nehez, along with their sweet boy Tristan, are the sweetest little family! Mitchell proposed this past November is such a special way! He had their son walk out in a onesie that read, “Mommy, will you marry my Daddy?” Of course she said yes! She loves her unique ring, saying it’s “beautiful, perfect, and everything I could have imagined,” and it sure sparkles on her finger! They are getting married very soon on the 16th of this month in a rustic barn wedding. They are taking a honeymoon in Punta Cana and can’t wait! Nothing can hide the love these three share, and I am so honored to be able to capture their memories.

~Tell us how you met and describe your first impression.

Mitchell: “It all started when I built up the courage to say hi to her at the beginning of English class, and we began a conversation from there. My first impression was that she was absolutely beautiful, a little shy at first, but a huge personality that everyone loved.”

Breanna: “My first impression was ‘OMG he is hot…’ and I was terrified to talk to him.”

~What is your favorite thing about your fiancé/fiancée?

Mitchell: “My favorite thing about Brea is her absolute focus and determination. Whatever she sets as a goal, she’ll accomplish it.”

Breanna: “My favorite thing would have to be how much love he has for me and Tristan, as well as how much he does for us.”

~What does a typical/ideal date night look like for the two of you?

Mitchell & Breanna: “Dinner and a movie or Netflix (with no kids).”

~How does your fiancé/fiancée make you smile/laugh?

Mitchell: “She makes me smile and laugh most when she is playing with Tristan. I love that.”

~Fast-forward 5 years and daydream…what does life look like?

Mitchell: “Brea, Tristan, and I are all together playing board games in our living room. No cell phones, no schedules, just us enjoying each other.”

Breanna: “We have a home that we are building either at the beach or on some land, with at least one more baby.”

~How did you know he/she was the one?

Mitchell: “After years together, when I had nothing but love to offer, she stuck with me. No one understands my story better than she does.”

Breanna: “I have always known since sophomore year of high school that I would marry him. I love him with all my heart and nothing could change that. He is so caring and would do anything for anyone. I think I honestly really knew deep down when our son was born; I had some complications and he never once said ‘no I can’t do that’ or ‘that’s gross.’ He just jumped right in and helped with what ever I needed or wanted.”

Long Ridge Farm was the perfect setting for the Nehez wedding last June. Breanne and Mitchell go as far back as high school and their love has only grown with time. From 10th grade English class to their wedding day, these two sweethearts are committed to forever!

Breanne knew she would love Mitchell for the rest of her life the day their son’s life began. Seeing him become a dad was so precious to her and their baby boy played a special role on proposal day and wedding day. When Mitchell proposed, he had their son in a onesie that said, “Mommy will you marry Daddy?” When it came time after the “I Dos” their son walked down the aisle with them into the perfect getaway car.

Breanne took the reins as the planner for her wedding. Her advice for brides trying to do the same is to not stress, that it will all fall into place; and it sure did! From the floral invites, to the customized bridal robes, every detail was stunning on the big day.

The reception wrapped up the Nehez wedding day with a bang! Catering was done by Mark’s Feed Store in Louisville and the DJ Buddy Irvin made sure to keep the crowd dancing. After digging in to their flawless cake by Darlene Nold, the couple swayed to the music until this perfect day was over.

Trey and Leslie Schweitzer had a sunny, daytime wedding on June 6, 2018. Burdoc Farms had a beautiful gazebo for the ceremony and The Keith Glen, a beautiful new addition to Burdoc Farms. The venue is in the woods by a pond with a lighted fountain, surrounded by fields and forest. With a more modern look and feel you can still enjoy the natural beauty of Burdoc Farms because of the wall of glass that faces the pond and woods. Chandeliers, a copper bar top, natural wood farm tables and natural stone fireplace adds to the beauty of the building..

Leslie and Trey’s engagement story was a part of a family tradition. During an annual Easter egg hunt, Regan, Leslie’s dog, ran up to her with something shiny dangling off his collar. Trey kneeled and popped the question with all of Leslie’s family watching, just the way she had always imagined!

Leslie’s engagement ring is stunning, it’s a marquise cut with circle emeralds on each side. Her wedding dress was from David’s Bridal and is form fitting, with a sheer top and sleeves. The lace embellishments on the sleeves and her swept back half up-do gave her the perfect bridal look.

Every detail in their wedding was planned with such perfection! The bridal party helped decorate the cake with the cutest greenery and succulents. The ceremony arch was so elegant with white flowers and greenery strewn around it. Trey and Leslie stood under that arch holding in their hearts what they loved most about each other and said, “We do!”

At the very end of the wedding, Trey and Leslie were able to have a short photo session with the sunset in the background sharing an intimate time after a hectic day!

Fields and Emily attended the same high school and grew up just a few miles apart, but they weren’t introduced until Fields’ younger sister Lucy suggested the idea. They had their first date at La Finca Mexican Restaurant and had Crisp’s Dairy Treat for dessert (an Ashland essential for summertime romance)… and they clicked instantly! He proposed to Emily on September 21, 2016, on their annual beach trip to his parents’ condo at Kure Beach. As they were taking some pictures on the deck before dinner, she turned around to see him on one knee – what a great surprise!

Emily loves that Fields is a very patient and kind-hearted person. He is very close with his family, which is something she values very much. She knew they were in love when they realized they had so much in common and texted and called each other constantly! They both had that gut feeling you just get when you are with the right person. Even after more than four years together, Emily still says, “he is the first person I want to tell everything to.”

Their favorite part of their wedding day was having all of their friends and family together under one roof. It warmed their hearts to receive all the well wishes and see people that they don’t often get to see. What a perfect way to start a marriage… surrounded by the people who love them! When envisioning their future together, one thing they both want to have is successful careers. They have both worked very hard to land their dream jobs, so they can’t wait to see where they will take them. And, when the time comes, they will also be very excited to start a family!

Emily wanted to share her advice for the Type A personality bride: “Get a coordinator, even if it is just for the day of the wedding. Fortunately, my package with the venue included a coordinator and that made the entire event flow seamlessly! Having a coordinator allowed me to enjoy the wedding rather than worry about the timeline, making sure everyone got food, etc., which I would have normally done being the detail-oriented person I am. Our coordinator went above and beyond the call of duty and made communication among vendors that day so smooth. It is money well spent if you are a particular bride!”

Bradley proposed to Mackenzie on December 9th, 2017, by recreating one of their first and favorite dates in Berea. They went to Berea Coffee & Tea and Owsley Fork Lake on the first snow of the winter, and it was perfect to Mackenzie. Her gorgeous ring is an oval-cut diamond set in rose gold, with diamond studs on the band. They plan to get married on July 6th, 2018, at Grace Church in Danville, KY, with a sweet barn reception to follow. Bradley is on staff there with Campus Outreach, and they will be living there while doing ministry at Centre College! Mackenzie talks about how much love and support they’ve received, saying, “God has definitely shown His faithfulness in planning the wedding, and I love it. So many of our friends and family have come together to help us plan. I think it’s a beautiful foreshadowing of how they will walk through our life and marriage with us.” They are going to follow up the wedding by honeymooning on a Caribbean cruise!

Bradley and Mackenzie met in college through Campus Outreach. Their circles didn't really overlap too often, so Bradley had to be content with admiring her from afar. He remembers one of his first thoughts after meeting her being that she had one of the prettiest smiles he’d ever seen and that she was extremely bubbly. She brought light to any room she entered. Mackenzie loved how he never had to be the center of attention and how he really just loved and listened to other people. They were also both attracted to the way that Jesus’ love radiated from each other.

This precious couple just loves being with each other, even on the simplest and sweetest of dates like grabbing Starbucks or McDonalds, talking, laughing, or reading. It brings them joy just to get to do life together! Mackenzie loves how Bradley is so patient and funny; he genuinely loves people in the purest form of unconditional love, exactly where they are, and wants others to know Jesus. She also loves his sense of humor, compassion, and patience. Their goals in marriage are to go on weekly dates (before kids at least), take monthly trips to fun places, be known for their generosity and how they give to others, allow their children to grow up with parents who give them the Gospel everyday, and start ministries in the hospital where they live to comfort the lonely.

When they imagine what life will look like in five years, they have such sweet hopes and aspirations. Bradley says, “If you ask her when she wants kids right now, she will say, ‘5 years from now.’ It's not that I don't believe her... all I'm saying is that our first will probably be close to 2 years old at that point and it will be her idea to have it! Hopefully I'll still be working with college students, discipling and equipping them in their faith to make a difference in the world. Mackenzie will be the greatest occupational therapist this world's ever seen by then (she's close already). At that point, I see us looking back and realizing how little we actually knew about each other when we got married. I see us using our dinner table as a refuge for the lonely. I see us marking our bucket list off one by one. And most importantly, I see Jesus, 5 years from now, using our relationship with each other to bring us closer to Him.” How beautiful is that?! It is a joy to know these two and get to capture their milestones. Show them some love, friends!

Hi friends! This is my first personal blog post, but I am so excited to share this one with you all because it is all about my sweet girl and our family these past few weeks as we celebrated her first birthday! I have always heard people say that time goes by so quickly when you have children, and y'all, they are not lying. I don't know how this past year went by so fast, but here we are and I have a one-year-old! I'm a ball of mixed emotions just thinking about it. I miss my tiny baby girl, but I love watching Anna grow into the sweet, sassy, and funny little girl that she is.

I knew I wanted to do a blog post about Anna's party so that I could give credit to all the people who helped make it so special (because yes, I'm crazy, and I used a lot of my talented friends to help pull it off). The inspiration for the party came from Anna's birth date; she was born on Easter Sunday of last year, so I knew that I wanted to do something with bunnies. Bunnies have always been her theme, and we’ve called her our “Little Bunny Girl,” so that’s where I drew inspiration. Once I started looking online at bunny parties, I had a hard time figuring out which direction I wanted to go because there is A LOT of stuff out there and a lot of different decorations and bunnies! The first decorations that came together were the floral hoops (I saw them some somewhere online). I asked my friend from Covenant Threads to make them and I was blown away. Once I had the hoops, they acted as the centerpiece for everything else (the cake topper, the headbands, the flowers).

I’ll give you fair warning now… if you continue to scroll through this post, there are A LOT of pictures. The weeks leading up to it and the week of Anna's birthday, I took pictures of some of the decorations for the party and we had pictures taken of the party, a cake smash session, and one-year family photos. According to my Instagram poll, you all wanted to see "ALL THE THINGS"…so that’s what I’ll show you! I’ll also put a list at the end of the post of the people who made each item and the photographers who took pictures for us because these people are so talented. I hope you all enjoy looking at this sweet girl's 1st birthday celebrations as much as I enjoyed it all coming together and showering our Anna girl with lots of love!

*on a side note, please ignore how bad the lighting is in some of the party photos, it was a SUPER rainy gloomy day so the pretty natural light we usually get in our home was all gone so we were working with lots of over head lights.

Chase & Lauren were married on September 2nd, 2017, at the Corner House Bed & Breakfast in Rockport, IN. It was a gorgeous wedding filled with lots of love, joy, and personal touches from the sweet couple. The bride put so much time and effort into doing many of her own flower arrangements and decorations, and it turned out absolutely stunning, as you can see from the photos of their day!

Chase and Lauren met the summer after their freshman year of college when they attended Summer Project through Campus Outreach. She stood out to him from everyone else due to her love of fishing, and they reconnected 5 years later through social media. Lauren first noticed Chase’s love for the Lord, and it was his goofy and vivacious personality that drew her to him. Lauren especially loves Chase’s warm and caring spirit and how fantastic he is with kids. She says she is so thankful that God created someone with all of these characteristics specifically for her. As a couple, they hope and strive to build each other up and push each other toward the Gospel.

To ask Lauren to be his wife, Chase orchestrated a big proposal day involving both of their families camping and hanging out on her family farm. He made her a scrapbook and wrote her a poem, and at the end of the poem, it said that he had a very important question to ask… So he asked, and Lauren was completely surprised! After proposing, they celebrated with all their closest friends who were eagerly waiting for them.

In thinking back to their wedding day, Lauren loves how it was so uniquely them. They were able to honor their family members who were no longer living, to use the glasses with which her parents toasted at their wedding, to toast with the champagne from Chase’s parents’ wedding, and to have family members write letters to put into the unity box that they built. The entire day had so much meaning and purpose for them, especially in sharing it with those they love most. Lauren also got to surprise her mother by dancing with her to one of their favorite songs from childhood, “Jeremiah Was a Bullfrog,” which she vividly remembers her mother always singing at the top of her lungs! Please scroll through these photos to witness the pure love and joy these two have for the Lord and for one another!

Love Always,

Becky
