Mr. and Mrs. Davis

Fields and Emily attended the same high school and grew up just a few miles apart, but they weren’t introduced until Fields’ younger sister Lucy suggested the idea. They had their first date at La Finca Mexican Restaurant and had Crisp’s Dairy Treat for dessert (an Ashland essential for summertime romance)… and they clicked instantly! He proposed to Emily on September 21, 2016, on their annual beach trip to his parents’ condo at Kure Beach. As they were taking some pictures on the deck before dinner, she turned around to see him on one knee – what a great surprise! Emily loves that Fields is a very patient and kind-hearted person. He is very close with his family, which is something she values very much. She knew they were in love when they realized they had so much in common and texted and called each other constantly! They both had that gut feeling you just get when you are with the right person. Even after more than four years together, Emily still says, “he is the first person I want to tell everything to.” Their favorite part of their wedding day was having all of their friends and family together under one roof. It warmed their hearts to receive all the well wishes and see people that they don’t often get to see. What a perfect way to start a marriage… surrounded by the people who love them! When envisioning their future together, one thing they both want to have is successful careers. They have both worked very hard to land their dream jobs, so they can’t wait to see where they will take them. And, when the time comes, they will also be very excited to start a family! Emily wanted to share her advice for the Type A personality bride: “Get a coordinator, even if it is just for the day of the wedding. Fortunately, my package with the venue included a coordinator and that made the entire event flow seamlessly! Having a coordinator allowed me to enjoy the wedding rather than worry about the timeline, making sure everyone got food, etc., which I would have normally done being the detail-oriented person I am. Our coordinator went above and beyond the call of duty and made communication among vendors that day so smooth. It is money well spent if you are a particular bride!”
