Calling all horse fans, the Sears wedding is about to make your jaw drop!! Blake and Sarah got married May 12th at The Big Barn located in the Kentucky Horse Park. These best friends turned high school sweethearts met in Calculus and their love story is anything but boring.

Every girl dreams about getting engaged at Disney World and that’s exactly what Sarah got! In March 2017, they vacationed to Orlando, Fl. and got tickets to Disney. Sarah wanted their picture together at the castle before it got dark but Blake already had a plan. He had an employee come over to capture the moment as he handed her golden Mickey ears that said, “Will you marry me?”

Their wedding day came together flawlessly in just two short months! The sun was out and shining early on May 12th and the horses could be seen running across the fields. Kala’s Stage was hard at work glamming up the beautiful bride to be; Sarah’s updo couldn’t have been more perfect.

Navy, Coral, and gold swatches filled the barn at the Sears wedding. The tables were decorated with centerpieces from IKEA and Michaels. The sun caught the sparkle tulle and beaded bodice of Sarah’s dress which made the whole night bright. They danced the night away in the barn surrounded by their friends and families.

Roger proposed on December 7, 2018. They had a date night in and made a nice dinner together at home. After dinner Roger had Sarah stand up in the kitchen and asked if she wanted to be his wife one day. Sarah replied with “Well are you going to ask me to be?!” He nervously took her to the living room and told her how much he loved her and asked again if she wanted to be his wife one day. Her response was the same as before. He then starts taking her up the stairs and she asked him “Why are you giving me a tour? I live here.” When they got to the bedroom he asked again “I love you so much. Do you want to be my wife one day?” Sarah’s response again was “Well are you going to ask me?” That’s when Roger dropped down to one knee, pulled out a ring and they both started crying. Roger said he got so nervous and didn’t know where to ask her! He already planned a proposal in Sarah’s hometown with her friends and family later in the month but the ring was burning a hole in his pocket. Sarah loved that it was just the two of them and they got to reflect on everything that they had already built together and spend time in the moment dreaming together of what is to come. They called and FaceTimed family and friends with their news and the next night they had a celebration in downtown Nashville with their closest friends. These two will be getting married at Buffalo Trace later this year in November. I can’t wait to spend the day with them, they are so fun and sweet.

Fun facts about the couple:

  • Sarah’s engagement ring is from the Vera Wang Love Heirloom Collection.  The center stone is an oval cut diamond wrapped in two oval-shaped diamond lined frames. The shank of the ring is lined with diamonds and milgrain to create an antique look. Inside the band, there are two princess cut blue sapphires that symbolize faithfulness and everlasting love. Sarah said she absolutely adores this ring, because it reminds her of her Grandmary who was so special to her.

  • What was your first impression of your fiancé?

Roger: I couldn’t take my eyes off her.

    Sarah: I felt safe.

  • What is your favorite thing about your fiancé?

Roger: Sarah is persistent and doesn’t give up.

    Sarah: Roger is trustworthy.

  • What does a typical/ideal date night look like for the two of you?

-Something competitive like mini golf, go carts, games, or scavenger hunts.

  • What is your favorite memory together?

-When we went for a hike with our dog Remi to Cummins State Falls. We had to problem solve together to get to the waterfall and once we were there had lunch and relaxed together.

  • How does your fiancé/fiancée make you smile/laugh?

Roger: Sarah does impressions or talks in funny voices sometimes and it always makes me laugh.

Sarah: Roger is like a bull in a china shop. He is a bigger guy and tries to be so gentle with everything but always ends up looking goofy.

  • Fast-forward 5 years and daydream…what does life look like?

-We want to push each other to be the best version of ourselves. We hope to have more degrees, and more success in our occupations. We also want to take a trip to Germany where Roger was stationed in the military before we have children.

  • How did you know he/she was the one?

Roger: I saw that she genuinely cared and wanted to push me to be a better man.

Sarah: When I am with him I feel like I am home.

  • What is his/her best quality or personality trait?

Roger: Sarah cares about others more than she cares about herself.

Sarah: Roger puts our needs first. He sets goals and priorities and doesn’t let things get in the way of their success.

  • Do you plan to take a honeymoon? If so, where?

-We plan to take what we are calling a “mini-moon” We don’t have a lot of time to take away to enjoy a longer vacation. We plan on staying at The Kentucky Castle and treating ourselves to fancy dinner reservations, and pampering.

There is nothing that beats the winter cold like a swoon worthy summer wedding! Noah and Lindsay’s wedding day at Talon Winery brings back those warm, bright tones we have all been missing. Having known each other since they were kids, these high school sweet hearts officially tied the knot on June 3, 2018.

A cute high school crush turned into so much more for Noah when he realized, although they were young, they were in love. Lindsay agreed and realized that she couldn’t imagine a life without him. She describes Noah as caring and always putting others before himself; everyone loves a selfless man, right?

Their wedding day story begins at Noah’s sisters wedding, you heard that correctly! Noah and Sara (the sister) cooked up a plan to make sure Lindsay caught the bouquet, and when she did…Noah was there behind her on one knee. I was the photographer at Sara’s wedding also, so I got to capture this moment. After a year of planning, their wedding day was sure to be one to remember.

Seeing all her hard work come to fruition, Lindsay got to marry Noah under a stunning archway looking out over the winery. The sun was shining but all eyes were on Lindsay’s sweet heart, cap sleeved wedding gown. Don’t stress the small details, Lindsay says, just enjoy the process and breathe.

Lindsay and Noah loved the moment they stood in front of God and started their lives together. Being able to celebrate with friends and family was the perfect way for them to finally become Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton.

This was my final wedding of 2018, which means I’m caught up on my 2018 weddings. Hallelujah!! JD and Emma Morgan got married 4 days shy of Christmas, and it was nothing short of magical. Emma started the day in matching flannels with her girl squad. They got ready at the reception venue, The Signature Club at Lansdowne, which provides a bridal suite for the couple and their wedding party.

The ceremony was held at Tates Creek Presbyterian Church in their beautiful sanctuary. Wreaths were hanging down behind the alter and Emma's dress, from David's Bridal, glowed the whole way down the aisle. There was not a dry eye in the house (including me, I’ve never cried so much during a ceremony) as Emma walked herself down the aisle in memory of her father who passed.

After the ceremony, the bridal party took a limo from Gold Shield Limo and headed to the reception. All the fun was caught on video by Lindsey Ritchie and coordinated by Danielle Trenaman. Emma and JD ended the night dancing with all their friends for hours on hours! I'm so thankful I got to capture this emotional, loving, and fun wedding!

Also in this last picture of me with this group of girls; they are all past Becky Willard Photography Brides. Gosh I am so thankful for these ladies and the many many other couples I have had the joy of capturing on camera.

This snuggly winter engagement session took place in Midway, Kentucky. We hit all of Andrew and Blaire’s favorite places that have been very special to them during their dating and proposal. I don’t normally love winter engagement sessions because it’s so cold, but these two were SO fun (just look at all the giggles) and very sweet with each other, they made it worth every trip to the car to warm back up, haha. I hope you all enjoy these pictures and stay on the look out for their wedding that is happening later this summer.

The Adkin's wedding was decked out in douglas fir and christmas lights at The Josephina Event Venue. Dana's bouquet was filled with deep red roses and fluffed with greenery. Her dress was a stunning ivory with lace embellishments at the top, which complimented her lace and beaded headband.

The bridesmaids got ready in seasonal flannels while the groomsmen pinned on their pinecone corsages. The ceremony was held at Knoxville Baptist Church which was adorned with wreaths, garland and a massive christmas tree. The bridal squad walked down the aisle in gorgeous David's Bridal, maroon, lace top dresses.

The ceremony was held in a huge, white barn with high rafters. Lights were wrapped around the wood and stone poles and a chandelier hung in the middle of the dance floor. The Adkin's ended the night dancing while being surrounded by those they love most!

Danielle and Hunter's winter wedding day was filled with their love for Christ and the spirit of Christmas. Danielle and her 14, yes 14, bridesmaids started the day at a huge, beautiful house in downtown Cincinnati. The amazing wood embellishments in the house popped in the background against the matching flannel bridesmaid pajamas. The groomsmen got ready at an AirBNB in Over the Rhine and it was equally as stunning.

The ceremony was held at Christ Church United which was decked out in Christmas decor and had a huge vaulted ceiling. Danielle and Hunter said, "I do" standing next to a huge christmas tree surrounded by a packed out sanctuary of people. The reception venue was so unique, The Mess Hall at Fort Thomas has been renovated to hold large weddings and facilitate the perfect wedding night.

The wedding details were captured by an amazing team. Hunter Rogers was the wedding coordinator and did such an amazing job, she inspired Danielle to pursue doing the same thing to help other brides! The video was captured by Morgan Price who always catches the sweetest, tear-jerking moments and I was lucky enough to take these wedding photos for Danielle and Hunter who are so near and dear to my heart!

We are taking it back to Fall 2018 when the Ginko trees on Catalpa were bloomed (for a short amount of time). I don’t always get to do sessions during this time because of how popular it is to do pictures on this famous Lexington road but I am so so happy Hunter and Danielle asked me to do their engagement pictures there last year. It may have been freezing, but I don’t think these two cared one bit. I will be posting their winter wedding so soon, until then enjoy this beautiful fall session.
