Morgan and Justin had the perfect fall, barn wedding on October 20th, 2018. Farmstead at Shawnee Trails provided a great location for both the ceremony and reception. It was a chilly day, but I don’t think you can tell. The night ended in a stunning sunset that gave the bride and groom photos they will cherish for a lifetime.

Morgan started the day with mimosas and a gorgeous floral robe that complimented the florals her grandmother put together by hand! The brides wedding gown had a sweetheart neckline and sheer fabric with lace florals up to her collarbone. The dress was purchased at Meant to Be Boutique in Lexington, Ky. The bridesmaids wore maroon gowns that had sheer lace from their knee to their feet, I love the uniqueness of them!

Family means so much to Justin and Morgan and that was evident throughout the day. Morgan got embroidered handkerchiefs for all the special women in their lives and many tears were shed! She looked forward to the dance with her dad for such a long time and it was everything Morgan dreamed it would be! Justin and Morgan ended the night being celebrated out by all their loved ones.

Andrew and Breanna met in 2010 during their sophomore year of high school. They started dating toward the end of their junior year when Andrew FINALLY asked Breanna on a date, which was to go to the homecoming dance together. Andrew proposed by surprising Breanna by taking her to the restaurant where they always celebrate anniversaries. At the end of the meal, the waitress brought out a dessert plate with the date and a heart on it written in chocolate. He then got down on one knee and proposed. He even had a friend show up to take pictures (good job on the pictures Andrew). It rained on and off on their wedding day but it didn’t stop them from being so joyful thru their whole day. What a special time we had with Andrew, Breanna and their most favorite people.

Also as a side note this wedding was on September 22, 2018 and that day every year is always special to me because that’s my husband and I’s anniversary. We got married September 22, 2012.

August 10th, 2018 was predicted to be a rainy, hot day but the weather couldn't have been more perfect for the Hughes special day. The bridesmaids woke up in their matching lemon shorts and sparkly gold tops ready to get the day started. Hayden and Marlee, having known each other for almost 4 years, were reminiscing on going from friends, finances, to husband and wife in just 8 short months.

The ceremony venue was decked out with 26 people in the bridal party! The bridesmaids wore shades of purple from Lulus and the men wore navy suits and bowties. Hayden's tie complimented the theme with a purple floral pattern. Marlee wore a dress from the Steel Magnolia that was form fitting, lace, and had tons of pearls and sparkles. Each bridesmaid carried a bouquet of dried lavender, the smell was amazing!

The reception had beautiful, tall orchids from Rainbeau Orchids and gold sparkles incorporated everywhere. Drinks and desserts were offered and the dancing was definitely a requirement. As Hayden and Marlee said goodbye to their friends and ran under the sparklers, Hayden's dad mistakenly followed, such a funny ending to an even funner wedding.

This wedding also has a very special place in my heart because it was my very first wedding that was published in a magazine, it was published in Bridal Bliss Magazine.

Nicholas and Kristen met in the hallway at their church, TCPC, where she also worked. He caught Kristen’s eye while volunteering for an event there because of how sacrificially he served others. They ended up on the same church volleyball team, and they really got to know each other and soon began dating. After he told her he loved her for the first time, Kristen knew that this was something she had never felt or experienced before and that she wanted the kind of love that was more than a feeling; she knew that she wanted to commit her whole life to him. She loves how Nicholas serves others, his love for the Lord, and his leadership in all areas of his life. Kristen also thinks it’s so sweet how when Nicholas gets to know someone, he doesn’t just remain on the surface; he really gets to know what they love, what makes them tick, and their passions. Kristen also loves how he really takes an interest in her and her heart. He is quick to repent, quick to forgive, incredibly patient, and he shows her love in the ways she needs. Most importantly, he points her to her first and true love, Jesus.

Nicholas and Kristen have all of the basic dreams that a couple might have- to own a home (which they have recently checked off their list- they purchased their first home and are renovating it together- so fun!), have a family, and travel and experience other cultures- just to name a few! They even have a fun bucket list for this year that includes attending concerts, taking a cooking class, and going camping! More importantly, they also really want to learn to love each other well and have a beautiful marriage. Their ultimate goal in life is to glorify God through their marriage by being faithful and loving spouses to one another.

Nicholas proposed to Kristen last July. He picked her up for a typical Saturday afternoon date, drove her out through country roads to a good friend's farm, and set up a picnic for the two of them in the middle of a field there! They sat, ate, laughed and enjoyed one another's company; with Kristen's favorite band (Johnnyswim) playing in the background. He turned the music up and asked Kristen to dance, something she absolutely loves to do! He dropped to one knee and asked her to marry him, to which she responded with tears streaming down her face, "YES!”

They loved so much about their wedding, but if they had to pick their favorite part, they’d have to say it was the people! It was incredibly special to have all the ones they love so dearly surround them on their big day. They also loved that they had a morning wedding, because of how unique and special it was. They chose not to do a first look, and seeing him for the first time walking down the aisle was one of the most intimate sweetest moments for Kristen. To those in the midst of this stage of life, Kristen says, “I would LOVE to share any of my thoughts and experiences with wedding planning, engagement, marriage, etc. with anybody! What a sweet time in your life. Stop stressing and enjoy it! Seriously, let me know if you want chat over coffee! :)” Scroll through these photos to see the true joy that spills over from the Jacksons!

It’s not everyday that Cats fans from across Kentucky get to join together for a wedding! July 14, 2018 Scott and Cassie tied the knot in true Kentucky proud fashion. The ceremony at the beautiful Tates Creek Presbyterian Church sanctuary was followed by a reception at Kroger field!!

When they first started dating, Cassie quickly noticed Scott’s patience and his heart for all people. He fell in love with her caring heart and passions. They knew they’d be together forever after their first hang out. What started as studying, turned into a day of fun and memories.

On their wedding day, Cassie wore a beautiful Stella York gown from Twirl. My favorite photos are seeing the dress in action as Scott spins her around! Scott saw her for the first time that day when she walked down the aisle and tears were definitely shed! They wrapped up the wedding at the Woodford Reserve Room at Kroger field. DJ Warren peace was on the mic and everybody spent the end of the evening on the football field, which was so a fun and unique experience.

When I said I was finished blogging all of my 2018 weddings I wasn’t telling the full truth. I was holding this one for the 4th of July because this wedding took place during 4th of July weekend last year. Wendy and John got married on July 7, 2018 at Gallrein Farms in Shelbyville, Ky. This wedding was full of red, white and blue from the grooms socks, to the red bridesmaid dresses and navy groomsmen suits. The day ended with a beautiful sunset and pictures by the water. Wendy’s dad even brought down his 69 Camero Z28 to snap a few pictures with. Everything about this day was exactly the way Wendy and John wanted it and it was perfect. Happy 4th of July everyone, I hope you all enjoy this wedding :)

Danville Kentucky was the dreamy backdrop for Mackenzie and Bradley's July "I dos." This couple had months to plan their perfect day, but the venue change the day before threw them for a loop! Nobody could have pulled in off as flawlessly as this perfect couple and their awesome bridal crew!

It's all in the details with this unique barn wedding. The ceremony arch was wrapped with white silk, eucalyptus, and beautiful flowers waiting for the even more stunning bride. Mackenzie wore a lace dress with a sweetheart neckline from David's Bridal and had a custom-made veil pinned in her curls. The bridesmaids (yes, there were a lot!) wore shades of green to compliment the grey suits worn by the groomsmen.

Bradley's reaction to Mackenzie walking down the aisle was so precious; all the family members were tearing up! The night was spent capturing every single sweet moment between the two of them. They made sure to include tons of time for dancing so the floor was filled with laughing and fun until the final send off. As everyone blew bubbles in the happy couples way, they drove off and started their lives together.

Long Ridge Farm was the perfect setting for the Nehez wedding last June. Breanne and Mitchell go as far back as high school and their love has only grown with time. From 10th grade English class to their wedding day, these two sweethearts are committed to forever!

Breanne knew she would love Mitchell for the rest of her life the day their son’s life began. Seeing him become a dad was so precious to her and their baby boy played a special role on proposal day and wedding day. When Mitchell proposed, he had their son in a onesie that said, “Mommy will you marry Daddy?” When it came time after the “I Dos” their son walked down the aisle with them into the perfect getaway car.

Breanne took the reins as the planner for her wedding. Her advice for brides trying to do the same is to not stress, that it will all fall into place; and it sure did! From the floral invites, to the customized bridal robes, every detail was stunning on the big day.

The reception wrapped up the Nehez wedding day with a bang! Catering was done by Mark’s Feed Store in Louisville and the DJ Buddy Irvin made sure to keep the crowd dancing. After digging in to their flawless cake by Darlene Nold, the couple swayed to the music until this perfect day was over.

Trey and Leslie Schweitzer had a sunny, daytime wedding on June 6, 2018. Burdoc Farms had a beautiful gazebo for the ceremony and The Keith Glen, a beautiful new addition to Burdoc Farms. The venue is in the woods by a pond with a lighted fountain, surrounded by fields and forest. With a more modern look and feel you can still enjoy the natural beauty of Burdoc Farms because of the wall of glass that faces the pond and woods. Chandeliers, a copper bar top, natural wood farm tables and natural stone fireplace adds to the beauty of the building..

Leslie and Trey’s engagement story was a part of a family tradition. During an annual Easter egg hunt, Regan, Leslie’s dog, ran up to her with something shiny dangling off his collar. Trey kneeled and popped the question with all of Leslie’s family watching, just the way she had always imagined!

Leslie’s engagement ring is stunning, it’s a marquise cut with circle emeralds on each side. Her wedding dress was from David’s Bridal and is form fitting, with a sheer top and sleeves. The lace embellishments on the sleeves and her swept back half up-do gave her the perfect bridal look.

Every detail in their wedding was planned with such perfection! The bridal party helped decorate the cake with the cutest greenery and succulents. The ceremony arch was so elegant with white flowers and greenery strewn around it. Trey and Leslie stood under that arch holding in their hearts what they loved most about each other and said, “We do!”

At the very end of the wedding, Trey and Leslie were able to have a short photo session with the sunset in the background sharing an intimate time after a hectic day!

Fields and Emily attended the same high school and grew up just a few miles apart, but they weren’t introduced until Fields’ younger sister Lucy suggested the idea. They had their first date at La Finca Mexican Restaurant and had Crisp’s Dairy Treat for dessert (an Ashland essential for summertime romance)… and they clicked instantly! He proposed to Emily on September 21, 2016, on their annual beach trip to his parents’ condo at Kure Beach. As they were taking some pictures on the deck before dinner, she turned around to see him on one knee – what a great surprise!

Emily loves that Fields is a very patient and kind-hearted person. He is very close with his family, which is something she values very much. She knew they were in love when they realized they had so much in common and texted and called each other constantly! They both had that gut feeling you just get when you are with the right person. Even after more than four years together, Emily still says, “he is the first person I want to tell everything to.”

Their favorite part of their wedding day was having all of their friends and family together under one roof. It warmed their hearts to receive all the well wishes and see people that they don’t often get to see. What a perfect way to start a marriage… surrounded by the people who love them! When envisioning their future together, one thing they both want to have is successful careers. They have both worked very hard to land their dream jobs, so they can’t wait to see where they will take them. And, when the time comes, they will also be very excited to start a family!

Emily wanted to share her advice for the Type A personality bride: “Get a coordinator, even if it is just for the day of the wedding. Fortunately, my package with the venue included a coordinator and that made the entire event flow seamlessly! Having a coordinator allowed me to enjoy the wedding rather than worry about the timeline, making sure everyone got food, etc., which I would have normally done being the detail-oriented person I am. Our coordinator went above and beyond the call of duty and made communication among vendors that day so smooth. It is money well spent if you are a particular bride!”
